From 2006 to 2009 I worked as a Background Artist on the Oscar Nominated film
The Illusionist, directed by Sylvain Chomet, creator of
Les Triplettes de Belleville. I was responsible for a great deal of the exterior shots in the film from initial concept thumbnails to the final layouts and digital paintings. The film was nominated for several international film awards including the Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination for best animated feature.

I did the initial colour keys and painted all the final backgrounds for this collection of short films for HMV which were extended in 3D by the guys at Nexus Productions. Unfortunately we couldn't save them from going under.
